tort.fm is a free radio player that runs in your browser. It streams more than 36,000 live stations from over 240 countries, listed by the community-maintained Radio Browser directory. There is no account to create, no subscription and no ads, and it needs JavaScript to play audio.

Two ways to find a station

• Discover — shelves of stations by genre: Lo-Fi, Chillout, Ambient, Jazz, Lounge, Electronic, House, Rock, Pop, Classical, Hip-Hop and Indie.
• Globe — an interactive world map. Pick a country to see every station broadcasting there, then narrow it down by region or city.

Focus mode

Focus mode fills the screen with a generative visual field and runs a 25/5 Pomodoro cycle: 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute break, and a 15-minute long break after every fourth block. The radio keeps playing throughout, the screen is kept awake, and the timer runs off an absolute deadline — so it is still right after your laptop sleeps.

Where do the radio stations come from?

From Radio Browser (radio-browser.info), a free, community-maintained directory of internet radio stations whose data is released into the public domain. tort.fm reads that directory directly from your browser; anyone can add a missing station there.

What is focus mode?
